During the Latin American Games Showcase: Summer Game Fest Edition, GamesBeat had the chance to play the demo for T.W.I.R.L., a horror game about growing up in 2006 and harboring a deep secret that must be protected for life.
Presented through a filter ripe with millennial nostalgia, T.W.I.R.L. fully embraces the terror sometimes associated with keeping secrets as a child, and the anxiety that comes with accepting your biggest fears. According to Ben Escobar, founder of Genie Boy Games, “Of many things, T.W.I.R.L. is a challenge to look fear in the eye, and see it for what it is: nothing.”
The demo for T.W.I.R.L. is available now, with the full version coming to PC and Mac via Steam later this year, and versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch to follow. For more updates on T.W.I.R.L. make sure to follow Genie Boy Games and GamesBeat on X.
