Insider Gaming recently spoke with Nikita Kolesnikov at Gamescom 2026 about Hello Neighbor 3, the new installment in the cozy, survival horror stealth franchise played by more than 40 million people, currently in active development for PC on Steam.
In the interview, Kolesnikov says the franchise’s influence has grown beyond his initial expectations, and that Hello Neighbor 3 is intended to be a direct continuation of the first title. Many of the key pillars that made the original Hello Neighbor so enticing remain in this iteration. You’ll cleverly evade your neighbor as you snoop around your environment and make new discoveries.
Hello Neighbor 3 builds on that strong foundation with a much larger neighborhood to explore, and what Kolsenikov describes as a “self-contained simulation” where many of the characters have daily goals and objectives to achieve that can be disrupted, which can lead to innovative solutions or unlocking previously inaccessib
