Following announcements made at the Future Games Show, Gamespot published a roundup of animal-centric titles, including the newly-revealed Amphibian, a frog-filled super 2D RPG for fans of classic console adventures from JARCORP Interactive, hopping onto PC via Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch in 2028.
Drawing clear inspiration from legends of the JRPG genre, Amphibian is a retro RPG that casts players as anthropomorphic frogs on a quest to reverse a countryside drought that threatens their world.
Created by developer duo Greg Alexandropolous and James Rouymeliotis, Amphibian may be packed to the gills with frogs, but its story is somber, emotional, and dramatic, landing somewhere between Game of Thrones and The Secret of Nimh. Engage in turn-based, tactical combat with your party against vicious beasts, insects, and other amphibians in a tale that chronicles the tribulations of warring factions in its semi-aquatic world.
