Insider Gaming isn’t chickening around in the zombie apocalypse, in its article featuring the 1.0 release date news for Keep Her Safe, an isometric blend of extraction shooter and tower defense from Gugu Studio.
Keep Her Safe, one of the most humorous and satirical extraction games to emerge in recent years, is preparing to launch into a 1.0 state on October 12. The game’s developer, Gugu Studio, has fleshed out the early access ecosystem of the game to include new maps, minigames, and ways to defeat hordes of undead enemies, all ready for the title’s 1.0 release.
Seven days of acid rain caused all of the humans lost in the apocalypse to rise up as bloodthirsty zombies. Keep Her Safe is a satirical and comedic shooter where players assume the role of an anthropomorphic chicken tasked with fighting through a zombie apocalypse. There is one human left, a “survivor lady” who resides at the base. In addition to protecting her, the power core at the base must also be kept safe from the advancing zombie horde. In between rounds, players can participate in mini-games to blow off some steam before taking on the next wave.
You’ll assume control of an extremely capable chicken and join forces with other anthropomorphized animals in a bid to build a base, loot the world silly, and massacre endless waves of bloodthirsty zombies. It has cooperative multiplayer elements, humorous minigames, and a core gameplay loop that becomes increasingly challenging the longer you survive. There’s a day-night cycle, a changing weather system, and a massive loot pool, along with survival mechanics, crafting elements, and much more.
The game has moved quickly from early access to full release, a testament to the work done early on and through the early access period.
Keep Her Safe releases in 1.0 on Monday, Oct. 12 on PC via Steam.
