Gamasutra shared IGDA’s biggest news of the year: Renee Gittinis has been named the organization’s new executive director and Nika Nour has been named the IGDA Foundation new executive director.

After serving on the IGDA board for more than two years, Gittinis steps in to replace Jen MacLean following her departure in April. Nour steps in after more than ten years in social and cultural initiatives including the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce.

“Diversity and inclusion efforts are critical to ensuring the growth and success of video game developers, players, and businesses,” said Nour. “The industry can do more to support women, minorities, LGBTQ, accessibility needs and underserved communities, and the IGDA Foundation’s work would be incomplete if we didn’t focus on the whole inclusivity pipeline.”
