PCGamesN has the latest on the upcoming Early Access release of Don’t Lose Aggro, the single-player action roguelite inspired by MMO raids.
Developed by longtime MMORPG tank Oren Koren, Don’t Lose Aggro‘s goal is to bring as much of the action and fun of being a tank to gamers without having to deal with the time and guild commitments necessary to successfully operate in that role.
You won’t just be standing there and taking hits like a practice dummy, though. Here, you’ll be able to whirl through mobs, sling your shield like the Slayer in Doom The Dark Ages, and even let out a mighty roar that applies status effects to friend or foe. You’ll be able to do so across three vastly different modes: Wave Defense, which focuses on crowd control and positioning, the speedrunning-based Dungeon Crawl, and Boss Rush, which is all about timing cooldowns and executing strats.
The name of the game references the technique of “drawing aggro” which involves a tank character in a group getting the attention of the enemies in a room so that others can use their skills and attacks or complete an objective. IN MMO raids, drawing aggro is a necessary and important piece of completing them. Don’t Lose Aggro removes a lot of barriers to entry and lets players get right into the act of tanking with a roguelite twist.
As a roguelite, you’ll also be able to tech into different talent trees using the points accrued from successful runs, allowing you to curate your playstyle further. If staying on the move and remaining elusive is your modus operandi, delve down the path of the Dodger. Likewise, if you have some serious main character syndrome and want to ensure the spotlight’s permanently on you, you’ll no doubt want to become a Taunter.
Don’t Lose Aggro is the best way for gamers to explore what it’s like to operate in an MMO setting without the pressures of the genre. Check out the game when it releases on Steam in Early Access on April 15, 2026!
