Garden and a Goat, the adorable animal collecting and ecosystem restoration game from developer Contemplation Games has a new Steam Next Fest demo, and Gamezebo has a preview of it!
Garden and a Goat is a cute little animal-collecting game that’s clearly wearing its Viva Piñata inspiration on its sleeve. Now, Contemplation Games, the developer and publisher of Garden and a Goat, has released its demo for PC. The new Garden and a Goat demo brings refreshed visuals and introduces new animal and plant variants not seen before. One of the new additions is a spicy raccoon variant that just can’t get enough chilli peppers! Garden and a Goat is a casual, relaxing, single-player animal collecting and ecosystem recovery game. You play as a friendly robot sent across a multiverse of struggling gardens and ecosystems.
In the game, players control a small robot tasked with reviving multiple ecosystems. Along the way, animals must be brought back to the ecosystems in order to further enhance the recovery of the worlds. Garden and a Goat is meant to be a relaxing, easy-paced experience. Something for gamers to look at, enjoy the atmosphere and get a few things done. Scanning and harvesting data gems, the game’s garden currency, is key to getting more plants and animals. And with enough of them, hidden requirements to collect multiverse variants of the animals will be revealed.
Your job is to clean up environmental damage, restore soil, plant vegetation, and convince wildlife to come back home. It’s about helping the ecosystems recover. You’ll clear debris, pull weeds, remove rubble, repair damaged land, and plant native species to rebuild each biome. Getting animals to stick around isn’t automatic, though. You’ll need to give them plenty of attention. That means petting them, feeding them treats you’ve crafted yourself, and decorating the garden with items they enjoy.
Garden and a Goat‘s Steam Next Fest demo is available to try now ahead of its PC launch in Q3 2026!
