AUTOMATON West pregames for the release date announcement of Drunken Goddess Reflux, the tipsy roguelike survival game with more than 500,000 wishlists, launching on Tuesday, Dec. 8 on Steam for PC.
Alliance Arts has announced that its upcoming Russian Roulette-inspired survival game, Drunken Goddess Reflux, will be released on December 8. A Steam Next Fest demo featuring offering 20 minutes of gameplay will be available starting October 19. Developed by Japanese studio Alliance Arts and directed by Fuyuki Hayashi (whose other works include Yunyun Syndrome!? Rhythm Psychosis and Kemono Tea Time), Drunken Goddess Reflux has you competing in a Russian Roulette drinking game against Femme Soule, the demon of alcohol. Set in Hell’s local Pandemonium bar, you challenge Femme in hopes that she’ll throw up her soul before you do.
Drunken Goddess Reflux places players in hell, more specifically a bar located in Hell where the demon of alcohol, Femme Soul accepts your challenge, and things quickly turn into a booze filled back and forth for your soul. Alternate drinking different spirits and try to sober up to last longer by taking some truly unsettling options. Or take a chance at beating Femme straight up, but she is the demon of alcohol after all, so that may be a bit more difficult than it sounds.
In each round, you pick a shot glass from a selection of similar-looking drinks with different proofs. Femme goes next, choosing from the remaining selection. Naturally, choosing stronger spirits gets you drunk faster, but Drunken Goddess Reflux throws in some unique elements that shake things up. Stabbing your own hand, for example, can sober you up by curing three points of intoxication. You can also make use of rule changes, such as adding an extremely potent drink called Spiritum into the remaining selection of drinks.
Drunken Goddess Reflux releases on PC via Steam on December 8th, and the demo can be downloaded and played on October 19. For more information, read Automaton West’s full article here.
