Nintendo Everything shares the news that Opera GX’s GameMaker Engine, the ultimate 2D game development engine, will include day one support for the Nintendo Switch 2, allowing games made in GameMaker to be ported directly to the new console.
The 2D development engine has collaborated with Nintendo to enable games made with the tech to be exported directly to the new console. Further details regarding support for Nintendo Switch 2, including features, timelines and how developers can get involved, will be announced soon.
“We’re incredibly excited about the opportunities this deal with Nintendo unlocks for developers to bring a new wave of fantastic GameMaker games to players on what’s sure to be the next groundbreaking console,” GameMaker head Russell Kay shared today.
