Gematsu has the news on the release date and platforms for Go North, the cozy and atmospheric maze adventure game developed by one-man studio gazuntype!
“There is a certain sense of serenity that comes from a good walk,” said gazuntype solo developer Tade Ajiboye in a press release. “With so much uncertainty in the real world, I wanted the calmness Go North exudes to be embedded into the core gameplay loop. As finding the exit due north is the only duty Dara has, I hope players feel the freedom to take their time, look around, and sit in the stillness of patience without penalties to find peace of mind.
Go North is home to a world of colorful and relaxing mazes. Play as Dara, an explorer known as a Littler, searching for the Maze God who will grant the wish of anyone who can complete all the mazes crafted by the Maze Makers. The game is made to create a sense of peace and quiet, but there’s room for a little competition as the multiplayer mode sees players racing with friends to complete mazes. Beyond that, there are other modes that will test the maze solving abilities of any who step into the world.
Direct Dara through twisted thickets of forests, bookshelf corridors, sky islands and more in four brand new levels debuting with today’s demo alongside never before seen puzzles and sidequests, including the newly introduced Camera mechanic. Glimpse into the magic of the full game’s world with an all-new opening cinematic and prepare to meet the Maze God face to face… if you can find him.
Go North launches on Xbox Series S/X, PC via Steam and Microsoft Store on July 28, followed by Nintendo Switch at a later date.
