The highly anticipated Agent 64: Spies Never Die, has a release date and PC Gamer has the news!

Agent 64: Spies Never Die, a lovingly-crafted homage to the classic Nintendo 64 James Bond game GoldenEye, made quite an impression when it turned up at the PC Gaming Show in 2022, but all hasn’t gone quite according to plan since then. But today we got the update we’ve been waiting for—developer Replicant D6 announced that Agent 64: Spies Never Die is set to launch on August 11.

Agent 64: Spies Never Die is a retro first-person shooter in the vein of the influential 1990s titles. Playing as Secret Agent John Walter, gamers will take on 14 missions in a variety of environments, from snow bases to nightclubs. Every aspect of the game has been painstakingly created to evoke the feeling of these classic titles. Melee animations will bring memories of hearing “Slappers Only” before setting up a multiplayer game. Speaking of multiplayer, Agent 64: Spies Never Die will feature local split-screen and online co-op play for the campaign and local and online options for competitive multiplayer as well as bots. It’s an all-out retro experience.

Another big deal: The Agent 64 singleplayer demo that was slated to be pulled earlier this month is being left online until August 9, just a couple days ahead of the game’s release, so you still have time to give it a rip. The demo, available for free on Steam, includes the first two missions of the game, so it should provide a pretty good sense of what it’s all about.

Replicant D6 has mentioned that single player remains the main focus of the game, but an homage of this level needed the full multiplayer treatment.
