Kotaku embraces new beginnings in a glowing preview of Perfect Tides: Station to Station, the narrative point ‘n click sequel to Three Bees’ acclaimed Perfect Tides, coming to PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch on Jan. 22, 2026.

2022’s Perfect Tides is one of the most splendid point-and-click adventures ever made. Now, that’s not an accolade you can just throw around in a world that contains Day of the TentacleMonkey Island 2The Longest Journey and Norco, and I do not make it lightly. That astonishing tale of the turbulence of teenage years in the year 2000 is soon to receive a sequel, Perfect Tides: Station to Station, and based on the new, lengthy demo that’s been released this week, it could well be an all-time classic.

Every scene is jam-packed with details, and pretty much everything that’s been drawn can be looked at. Whether it’s busy streets lined with people, market stalls, stores and street furniture, or the disheveled mess of Mara’s friend Daniel’s shared apartment, creator Meredith Gran has written wonderful details for every element.

Help Mara wrestle with the decisions of young adulthood as she pursues her dreams of becoming a successful writer and explores her first taste of independence. As the year progresses, new opportunities and challenges arise, found across more than 60 distinct, detail-rich environments filled with a heartfelt cast of dynamic characters.

“As with projects like Octopus Pie, I want to bring a strong sense of authorship to Perfect Tides: Station to Station,” explains Three Bees founder Meredith Gran. “It’s a game about growing up at a specific time, but it’s also a game about writing, so it’s always been important to me that players can identify the author’s voice as they play it.”

Perfect Tides: Station to Station launches on Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mac via Steam on January 22, 2026. For more information, please visit the official website, follow the team on Bluesky, and Twitter/X, join the community on Discord, and search #PerfectTides on all social media platforms.
