The Verge recently published an in-depth look at Indie Pass, the world’s only subscription platform exclusively for indie games. Assembled by indie games publisher Indie.io, Indie Pass launched on April 13, and allows players to access a growing library of indie titles for just $6.99 a month (or $55.92 a year).
Indie Pass was developed as a non-exclusive platform to help aspiring developers. Giving them the opportunity to earn revenue based on “player time spent in each game,” while allowing their work to appear on other storefronts at the same time.
While “indie” could easily define any of the roughly 20,000 games launched on Steam in 2025, Jess Mitchell, the director of growth at indie.io, told The Verge that games featured on Indie Pass will often be “a solo player experience built by a small team or a solo dev and offers an artistic experience that brings a player real satisfaction.”
Echoes of the Plum Grove and LunarLux are just a couple of the 70-plus games featured in the Indie Pass catalog at launch, with additional titles appearing on a regular basis.
