Destructoid’s Chris Moyse unfurled the latest gameplay trailer for Paper Beast, a PlayStation VR journey through a new world somewhere inside Big Data:

At this morning’s State of Play presentation, Sony revealed a new trailer for Pixel Reef’s esoteric looking VR title, Paper Beast, that features folded creatures, much like the ones created in origami art, existing within a huge sandbox world.

Legendary game designer Eric Chahi (Another World, From Dust) and his new studio, Pixel Reef, have envisioned a burgeoning ecosystem born of lost code and algorithms—the detritus of the Internet. Here, paper creatures form a symbolic bridge between the worlds of humanity and data.

Paper Beast is built atop a highly detailed simulation governing everything from animal behavior to terrain physics and player interaction. Explore a vast world, form bonds with surprising wildlife, and feel connected to beautiful environments.

Paper Beast will release for PlayStation VR in Q1 2020. For more on Eric Chahi’s latest creation, follow Pixel Reef on Twitter and explore the studio’s website.
