Rock Paper Shotgun’s Nic Reuben battles their way through Fort Oasis with the help of a mysterious voice in Total Chaos, a heinous survival horror adventure inspired by an original Doom II mod from developer Trigger Happy Interactive (the creators of Turbo Kill) and publisher Apogee Entertainment. Fight for a chance to live while traversing a grimy and grotesque world, coming soon to Steam!

Total Chaos started life as a popular Doom 2 mod, and while I dare the say the limitations of that game sell the atmosphere a little better than this much sleeker update, I certainly trust Trigger Happy enough to make the most of the new engine.

The survival horror comes into play in that you’ll have to scavenge your own makeshift weapons to deal with a selection of horrible things, including big spiders and dudes wearing skull masks

Descend into the depths of uncertainty as a Coast Guardsman washed ashore upon the jagged coast of Fort Oasis — an abandoned mining outpost shrouded in mystery. A lone voice calls out over the radio: “Get to the mines.” Can the voice be trusted? What lies beneath the island? And wait…doesn’t Fort Oasis seem…familiar?

Total Chaos offers a deep descent into isolation, fear, and survival as players venture deeper into the labyrinthine ruins of Fort Oasis, a one-way ticket into the shadows of the mind. It’s now overrun by horrifying, relentless creatures that adapt their attack patterns, as if they’re able to read minds. Fend off these monstrosities with whatever improvised tools can be scavenged—a pipe wrench, a makeshift axe, anything to keep them at bay.
