Valorborn, the sandbox fantasy RPG developed by Laps Games is out now on Steam Early Access and MMORPG.com has the latest news on the release!
the sandbox RPG takes place in the kingdom of Thareon in the wake of a “great magical cataclysm.” In the world of Valorborn, players can apparently take any role that tickles their fancy, whether it’s a sellsword or a tradesman dominating the kingdom’s trade routes. It looks like the aim here is to create a compelling player-driven beyond your standard sandbox experience.
Valorborn is an immersive adventure that gives players the freedom to take on the role of a sellsword, thief or hunter. There is freedom to take on the world at any pace, with a party built with characters in-game or solo. It’s an expansion of the open world ethos of being able to go anywhere. The main character customizable, as well as each party member, providing the freedom to make a group totally unique to each play session.
In the future, the plan is apparently to bring more systems, kingdoms, factions and more to Valorbornas it rides into 1.0 down the road. The basic systems are in place during this early access launch, including its progression system, exploration, trade and more. It’s a survival game, so you’ll be able to create your own base and encampment should you choose with you and some friends.
