GameRant named Frostrail, the brutal co-op survival FPS from Barotrauma developer FakeFish and publisher Shiro Unlimited, among this year’s most anticipated base-building games, highlighting the unique balance players must strike between amassing resources and maintaining the speed of their train.

“Frostrail will have players taking refuge on a moving train, constantly upgrading and operating as you navigate through the land of the cursed. Everything you need to keep going will be on board, including crafting tables, storage, and the ability to build new carriages as demand grows. The more you carry, the heavier your load. If you want to keep moving fast enough to escape enemies on the ground, you might want to think about a bigger engine.”

Fight off the biting cold and deadly Revenants while scavenging for supplies in abandoned settlements and underground dungeons. Upgrade the train with new cars to store supplies while sustaining enough speed to outpace the Revenants that chase its sound.

“[L]ooting is essential for survival, but you aren’t alone out there, so come prepared with weapons. The cold isn’t on your side either; don’t wear too few layers and suffer a slow, suffocating fate.”
