What do an escaped werewolf, a portly gourmet, and a macabre plague doctor have in common? At first glance, not a whole lot. But in Darksburg, the co-op zombie action roguelite from Shiro Games, they’re three characters capable of culling hundreds of zombies. Add them to a roster of five playable heroes, mix in some procedurally generated stages and skill-based combat, and you’ve got a recipe for a cooperative experience unlike anything else.

COGConnected’s Alexander Thomas recently suited up for a trip to the zombie-infested streets of Darksburg to find out what makes the game tick. In his review, Thomas praised Darksburg‘s consistent challenge and dynamic gameplay, writing:

…the moment to moment gameplay was intense and incredibly fun. Pulling off massive attacks that destroy crowds of the undead feels fantastic and the town of Darksburg has a beautiful design I almost wouldn’t know was procedurally generated. The lighting and field of vision mechanics are exemplary and keep you on your toes as you truly never know what might be around the corner.
