At PAX East last week, Peter Glagowski of Destructoid noted that he was “kind of in love” with 3D Realms’ demo of Ion Maiden, the new old-school first-person shooter created in the Build engine that powered classics like Duke Nukem 3D, Blood, and Shadow Warrior.

“Repeat playthroughs will probably see me finding secrets and pathways I didn’t even consider which is a lost art in this modern era of level design.”

Help Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison take back Neo DC from the transhumanist cult mastermind Dr. Jadus Heskel and his cybernetic army. Search for colorful keycards and Easter Eggs in huge, multi-path levels while turning the bad guys into pixelated goo with Shelly’s Loverboy revolver, Bowling Bombs, and the rest of her immense arsenal.

Ion Maiden is available now on Steam Early Access for $19.99. The game will fully launch on PC, Mac, and Linux in Q3 of 2018.
