11 Alive’s Makayla Richards is ready for the festivities coming to MomoCon, the largest celebration of gaming and anime in the Southeast United States! A star-studded roster of guests will be in Georgia this May to meet and mingle with the countless thousands of congoers looking to make memories throughout the weekend.

Luminaries include Vivienne Medrano, known as VivziePop and the creative lead behind breakout cartoon hits Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, as well as Marvel’s Mark Brooks, the artist behind Marvel comics’ Han Solo, Secret Empire, and Judgement Day. But this year’s biggest draw may not be any individual artist, but the live music set to amp up the energy at MomoCon.

And let’s not forget about the “rap-turous” return of Anime Rap Takeover, back by popular demand for its second year. Get ready to hear some sick rhymes featuring artists Cam Steady, GameboyJ ones, DizzyEight, Chi-Chi, Nem Raps (NerdOut), Ben Schuller (NerdOut), Ham Sandwich, and Silva Hound.

That is, of course, not all. MomoCon plays host to a far-reaching range of interests – competitive gaming fans, both in the form of card games and controllers, will have much to look forward to with MomoCon’s yearly tournaments. Wrestling fans, especially, will want to mark out their calendars for Zicky Dice’s Outlandish Paradise 3, featuring two straight days of high-flying, elbow-dropping performances!

And, of course, it would hardly be an anime and gaming convention without the cosplays and AMV contests. Every year, the Cosplay Showcase is held on the Saturday of the convention to give newcomers and budget-minded community members a chance to put their fandom on display, while the Sunday Craftsmanship Costume Contest bring out the big guns and professionals whose hand-crafted works elevates the art to a new level.

MomoCon 2024 will be held at the Georgia Congress Center in Atlanta, from May 24 to 27. To learn more about the convention, visit its website here, or follow its social media on Twitter/X, Facebook, and Instagram.
