A new year means a new heckin’ update for SpiderHeck, a non-stop PVP brawler from developer Neverjam and publisher tinyBuild, as covered by Bleeding Cool’s Gavin Sheehan. Among new maps, quality of life improvements, and more, the Honeycomb Update also includes much-anticipated cross-play support for PlayStation players, adding them to the wider webslinging community.

Indie game developer Neverjam and publisher tinyBuild Games revealed a brand new update has been added to SpiderHeck this week. The update has added a few new options, optimized much of the game, and added some new content.

Yes, that IS a spider with a laser sword. SpiderHeck’s platform-brawling chaos makes for a frenetically fun time whether in couch co-op or competitive mayhem, as combatants literally swing into action on silk threads around bombs, lasers, lava and more in pursuit of their quarry. Even in single-player mode, the bright neon explosions from rocket launchers, flamethrowers, and grenades will make for a manic experience as acrobatic arachnids fight off endless NPC hordes.

One of the big additions is the refined lobby creation, as it makes it easier to create a custom game with fewer issues. The game has also added several quality-of-life improvements for a smoother experience.
