With a prior place on TheXboxHub’s “Best Games of December” list, the hype is only mounting as Entropy Survivors, the online co-op roguelike bullet heaven and Shoulders of Giants companion game from developer Moving Pieces Interactive and publisher First Break Labs, launches on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
There’s some crazy weapons to be using here, ranging from Shoe Drops raining shoe-based hellfire on enemies, to the Roll’em Up ability turning things all a bit Katamari Damacy, if you catch my drift.
Proceedings get very action-packed, very quickly, and you’ll need lightning-fast reflexes as well as keen eyes to spot which enemies require priority in being taken down.
Mecha samurai GERM and sharpshooting partner Froggie are set up once again to contend against a hostile universe. At their disposal is everything from standard shotguns and sabers to wild out-of-left-field options like the Shoe Drop — which literally rains deadly shoes upon enemy forces — or the ever-popular bee-shooting gun, and many more.
Whatever the dynamic duo’s stylistic preference, be it getting up close, keeping their personal space between foes, or something more nonsensical, Entropy Survivors has a build for that and much more thanks to its deep well of weapons, abilities, and upgrades to experiment with.
Of course, just like with GERM and Froggie, there’s no reason to tackle the ceaseless hordes alone. Entropy Survivors can be played alone or with up to four-players in co-op mode. After all, if one mecha/frog duo can wreak such bee-spewing havoc, imagine how much of a catastrophe four can cause at once.
