Destructoid’s Joseph Luster digs deep into the Hollow’s cold, dark earth to excavate details around The Roads Untraveled update coming to Scarlet Hollow, the award-winning episodic horror-mystery developed by Black Tabby Games (Slay the Princess), on Monday, March 3rd in tandem with the start of Steam’s Visual Novel Fest.
Scarlet Hollow originally launched a couple of years before the gruesome twists and turns of Slay the Princess reared their heads. With Black Tabby Games turning back the hands of time to 2021, the chapters that are currently available will soon have something new to offer. In addition to UI improvements, the story has been expanded and new choices have been introduced for a relaunch that’s being dubbed The Road Untraveled.
Those returning to Scarlet Hollow, North Carolina, or checking out the Early Access release for the first time will experience a script with over 70,000 additional words. That covers the four chapters live now and more artwork from Abby Howard.
Pick two character traits to define your own embodiment of a character and trapse through your old hometown during the week-long return for your aunt’s funeral. Welcome home. If you’ve been here before, you may have noticed time has changed quite a lot. If this is your first time home, well — there are far stranger questions you’ll be asking yourself soon after stepping off the bus and into the Hollow.
