A new year means a new crop of games. Polygon’s Nicole Carpenter kicked off 2021 by taking a look at this year’s roster of promising indie projects. Carpenter spotlights 21 highly anticipated games, including 30XX, the follow-up to Batterystaple Games’ acclaimed, best-selling Megaroguelike action-platformer 20XX, and SkateBIRD, the avian action sports game from developer Glass Bottom Games.
Carpenter writes:
The colorful world of 30XX looks fast paced and intense, and it’s got a fantastic soundtrack. It looks a lot like Mega Man X, but according to the developer, it’s got the “replayability of a modern Roguelike.” Co-op is available too. If you liked 20XX, you’ll like this game, too.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2 held me off for a while, but the skateboarding game I’m really looking forward to is SkateBird, from developer Glass Bottom Games. Birds on skateboards! Birds! On! Skateboards!
You can wishlist the game on Steam now, but it’s also coming to Nintendo Switch and others consoles.
SkateBIRD comes to PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch later this year. For more information, visit the official website. 30XX beams to Steam Early Access in Q1 2021. Learn more by visiting the game’s official website.
