Destructoid is ready to hop into the fray with Entropy Survivors, the online co-op roguelike bullet hell and Shoulders of Giants companion game from developer Moving Pieces Interactive and publisher First Break Labs, coming to PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X|S December 5, 2024.

Entropy Survivors takes place in the same universe as Moving Pieces’ previous game Shoulder of Giants, and offers a similarly eclectic blend of sci-fi and silly. Survivors take control of two characters at once — a gunslinging frog riding a sword-swinging mecha. Though as is the nature of the survivor genre, the weapons will change, get buffed, and get downright nonsensical as the rounds go on.

Once you’re fighting off waves of enemies, you’ll gain new weapons and abilities on the fly. These include bee-shooting guns, a giant bowling ball, and all manner of other absurd tools of destruction that result in the screen being filled with explosions, death, and damage counters, making those the best builds in Vampire Survivors create.

The online co-op feature includes a range of classes and role archetypes for co-op partners to build their teamplay around. These include the usual support and damage roles like a healing Paladin class and an agile and sneaky Assassin class, as well as various starting perks to make even the initial moments of the game tailored to the survivor’s playstyle of choice.

But bear in mind: in the end, there can only be one left standing.

In Entropy Survivors, you battle wave after wave of enemies alongside fellow mech-riding frogs (players) using weapons and upgrades that grow more powerful and silly over time. You can customize the type of long-range weapon your frog wields and the class of your mecha-samurai GERM to suit varying playstyles before jumping in to see how many waves you can survive. Make it to the end of a mission, and you’ll be forced to turn on your fellow players to see who emerges as the true victor.
